Who we are

Privacy officer — Law 25

As required under Quebec Law 25, our designated Privacy Officer is Princilya Belley. All privacy requests, complaints, access requests and deletion requests may be addressed to the Privacy Officer at Princilya@eurekafrenchlearning.com.

What we collect

When you submit a Google Ads lead form, a contact form on this website, or otherwise communicate with us, we may collect:

• Your full name, email address and phone number;
• Your current French level, your learning goals (TEF Canada, Quebec PR, work, travel), and your target timeline;
• Your preferred callback time and postal code or city (when provided);
• Any message or question you submit through our forms;
• Basic technical information automatically collected by our website host and Google Analytics (IP address, browser type, pages viewed, approximate geographic region, referring URL).

Why we collect it

We use your personal information strictly to:

• Schedule and deliver the free 60-minute trial class you requested;
• Assess your French level and build your personalized A1→B2 roadmap;
• Follow up by email, SMS or phone about your request, our programs, pricing and start dates;
• Respond to your questions and deliver the services you purchase;
• Comply with our legal, tax and accounting obligations;
• Improve our website, our ads and the relevance of our educational offers.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not use it for advertising targeting or profiling beyond the aggregate measurement allowed by Google Ads.

Who we share it with

We only share the minimum data required with trusted service providers that help us operate Eureka:

• Google LLC — Google Ads Lead Form, Google Analytics (aggregate website analytics);
• Our email service provider — to send confirmation emails and educational content you have consented to receive;
• Our booking tool (e.g. Calendly, Cal.com) — to schedule your free class;
• Our payment processor (e.g. Stripe) — only if you choose to purchase a program;
• Squarespace — our website host, which stores the website and may log standard technical information.

Some of these providers are located outside of Quebec, including in the United States. In accordance with Law 25, we have assessed the privacy impact of these transfers and rely on contractual safeguards and the providers’ published data-protection commitments to ensure an adequate level of protection.

How long we keep your data

• Leads who never become students: up to 24 months from the last contact, then deleted or anonymized.
• Active and past students: for the duration of our relationship plus 7 years after, as required by Canadian tax and commercial law.
• Website and analytics logs: up to 26 months (Google Analytics default).

Your rights

Under PIPEDA and Law 25, you have the right to:

• Access the personal information we hold about you;
• Correct any information that is inaccurate or incomplete;
• Request deletion of your personal information (“right to be forgotten”), subject to our legal retention obligations;
• Withdraw your consent to our marketing communications at any time (every email includes an “unsubscribe” link);
• Request portability of your data in a structured, commonly used format;
• File a complaint with the Commission d’accès à l’information du Québec (CAI) or the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.

To exercise any of these rights, email Princilya@eurekafrenchlearning.com with the subject line “Privacy request”. We will respond within 30 days.

Cookies and tracking

Our website uses essential cookies to make the site work, and analytics cookies (Google Analytics, Google Ads conversion tracking) to measure which ads bring real students. You can disable non-essential cookies in your browser settings at any time. We do not use third-party advertising cookies for behavioural retargeting.

Children

Our services are designed for adults (18+) preparing for TEF Canada or equivalent goals. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If you believe we have collected information from a minor, contact us and we will delete it.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards (encrypted transmission, access controls, trusted service providers) to protect your personal information against unauthorized access, loss or disclosure. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, but we work to protect your data as if it were our own.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top reflects the most recent version. Material changes will be communicated by email to active students and leads.
